HEY I’M BEX,

I once got in trouble for painting the coat hangers at school. I was only four mind you - I just wanted them to look pretty. But, if this wasn’t a tell-tale sign to my parents that my career path would be creative, I don’t know what was?

I’ve tried lots of things, I’ve lived lots of places. But, the one thing that’s never wavered is my commitment to creating. I studied art and design and came out of university with a pretty tidy 2:1, a two year stint as president of the Equestrian Club, yes you read that right, and a lengthy hangover.

I wanted to connect my business and creative brain, so jumped at the chance of a graduate marketing scheme within News Corp. My second week on the job accidentally led me to The Sun floor, a room with a green screen and a clothes rack of bikini bottoms. Safe to say it changed my outlook on the corporate landscape, maybe we didn’t have to be so serious.

My marketing career has taken me to around the world, from horse shows in Sweden, to a fashion brand in Australia. I began my career in my home country, The UK, I worked as a marketer in corporate events, TV and sports. I took an early career break to travel Australasia which led me to work on a farm and as a stable lass for the renowned horse racing trainer, Gai Waterhouse. I fell in love with Australia and have, as of this year, moved back and made routes in Melbourne.

Marketing has been my day to day since I first stepped on the good ol’ career ladder, but I still needed to scratch that artistic itch. This led me to set up Bex Create, an illustrative home wear brand delivering commissioned art and products, in 2020.

Today I make it my goal to deliver both my marketing and artistic skills as a creative. I can’t wait to see what this crazy, wonderful, creative career of mine has in store and I hope you’ll be along to join the ride.
